Driving Instruction
Get Driving Instruction And Get Your Driver’s License
All new drivers need to be behind the wheel and learn how to drive before they can take the driving test and obtain their driver’s license. To be behind the wheel, they must be with an instructor who is approved to provide the driving instruction and observation.
For new drivers, 14 hours of in-car driving instruction is needed to make sure the driver has some experience behind the wheel and can drive safely once they obtain their license. This instruction needs to be done through a certified driving school or with a trained instructor to be valid. Of those 14 hours, seven must be of driving, and seven must be of driving observation. Driving instruction includes being able to observe and learn from driving skills taught during a driver’s education course, as well as actually getting behind the wheel and putting those skills to practice. All new drivers can benefit from driving instruction, which is why it’s a required part before a driver’s license can be issued. The seven hours is the minimum amount of time the student must be behind the wheel and practicing – they can do more than seven hours if they would like.
